GodTV

Now that my son is at school, im out looking for work, had my first taster of the working environment in about five years last week, I was a temporary staff member for GodTV for Missons week, I was actually really nervous having never done call centre work before and my friends telling me that it was “easy and nothing to worry about” did nothing to calm me down.

I didn’t know quite what to expect other that I would be in a studio with a live broadcast happening in the same room as me with cameras pointing at the call centre team as well as presenters.

By the end of the week I was totally loving it, atmosphere was incredible and the work challenged and stretched me which was what I was hoping for, one of the best bits for me apart from the worship time before hand was getting a phonecall from a lovely old lady who had been watching Rory and Wendy on GodTV and because of that braodcast she had gave her heart to Jesus, how wonderful is that!!

The thing that most stretched me was praying with people on the phone, its not something I’d ever done and when it was brought up my immediate thought was “I cant do that” of course by the end of the week it turned out i’d actually prayed with at least two people on the phone and it was such a blessing to me to be able to pray for them.

I really hope to do the next missions week as this time it was amazing!

Compassion performing “Everything”. Harvest 2009

the last few months

Over the last few months my blogging has slipped, to tell the truth I couldnt  be bothered with it really, but I decided to start writing a few posts again.

Quite a lot has happened since I posted, Ive been to a Christian youth camp called Harvest, and for the second year in a row they asked me to be a senior steward/co-lead a steward team, it was a challenging time, and to be fair im not sure I gave it my all this year as so many things seemed…….im not sure really, I was wondering if the time had come to move on from harvest to something else, there was so much change around it felt weird.

Also that week I had to deal with my tent breaking on its second usage, which I was not happy about and mainly spent that day in a mood/floods of tears;  but it showed me help actually comes from these you don’t expect it to come from,  namely head of site/site manager and the site kids, now i NEVER thought I’d see the caring helpful side that I did because they are both normally stressed up to eyeballs and in consequence they always seem to be gruff and don’t have time for you, but they couldn’t do enough for me, head of site went off to try and find his spare tent and site manager was helping me take down tent while telling me it was ok it can be fixed etc etc.

As it turned out my cousin was on site and asked me if I wanted to borrow her old tent from last year, so she went on a mercy dash back to her place which was quite a way from site and got hers for me!

Also at Camp we did a 70′s night which i’d spent months preparing for and designing what I was going to wear, that was so much fun and I got some funny pictures from that, as well as the 70′s night there was “Harvest’s Got Talent” so many fantastic entries into that and my Co Steward and her sister entered as a dance routine, but I got to say the best one for me was a entry by a group called compassion (video in next blog), really amazing piece of work!
