Happy Birthday Xcel

So tomorrow is Xcel Church Darlington’s third birthday, time has certainly flown by and it really does not seem three years since i went to the very first Xcel Darlington service, in the last three years we have had a change in the service pastors, moved into central hall and seen lots of people go but also lots of new people arriving in the darlington campus.

When I look back over the last three years, I’m reminded of the ‘Footprints’ poem

The LORD replied:

“My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you.”

I can see where God has carried me, throughout the times of trial and questioning, I see God’s hand on it all and without being placed in Xcel Darlington I dont think I would have got through it.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY XCEL DARLINGTON

A letter from the Father to His daughter

Dearest Daughter of Mine:

I am all you need. I am your breath. I am your life. I am your best friend. I am your counselor. I am your guide. I am your comfort. I am your love. I am your song. I am your joy. I am your creator. I am your purpose. I am your strength. I am your hope. I am your freedom. I am your shoulder. I am your hug. I am your smile. I am your wisdom. I am your laughter. I am your peace. I am your calm. I am your healing. I am your light. I am yours.

I am with you in the storms. I am with you in the pain. I am with you in the hurt. I am with you in the shame. I am with you in guilt. I am with you in loneliness. I am with you in rain. I am with you in weakness. I am with you in grief. I am with you in tears. I am with you in sickness. I am with you in sadness. I am with you in darkness. I am with you in corruption. I am with you in fear. I am with you confusion. I am with you in suffering. I am with you.

You are my joy. You are my creation. You are my love. You are my hands. You are my heart. You are my smile. You are my words. You are my chosen. You are my friend. You are my fragrance. You are my light. You are my beloved. You are mine.

I don’t bring the pain but I am with you in it. I don’t bring the storms but I can show you the way to overcome them. I don’t bring the sickness but I can heal you. I don’t bring the circumstances but I am with you in all of them. I don’t bring the destruction but I can build restoration. I don’t bring the tears but I gladly wipe them away. I don’t author the confusion but I bring clarity.

You are mine. Your story belongs to me. You are my dearly loved creation and I want nothing more than to shower you with blessings. You were created to worship and honor me in all you do. I am proud of you. I love you more than the stars. I love you more today than yesterday. I love you more every minute I see you live. I love you more every second you take a breath. I love you.

Always and forever,
Your Father and King

GodTV

Now that my son is at school, im out looking for work, had my first taster of the working environment in about five years last week, I was a temporary staff member for GodTV for Missons week, I was actually really nervous having never done call centre work before and my friends telling me that it was “easy and nothing to worry about” did nothing to calm me down.

I didn’t know quite what to expect other that I would be in a studio with a live broadcast happening in the same room as me with cameras pointing at the call centre team as well as presenters.

By the end of the week I was totally loving it, atmosphere was incredible and the work challenged and stretched me which was what I was hoping for, one of the best bits for me apart from the worship time before hand was getting a phonecall from a lovely old lady who had been watching Rory and Wendy on GodTV and because of that braodcast she had gave her heart to Jesus, how wonderful is that!!

The thing that most stretched me was praying with people on the phone, its not something I’d ever done and when it was brought up my immediate thought was “I cant do that” of course by the end of the week it turned out i’d actually prayed with at least two people on the phone and it was such a blessing to me to be able to pray for them.

I really hope to do the next missions week as this time it was amazing!

universe

Astronomers have unveiled the lightest exoplanet ever detected and, in the same distant solar system, the first “serious candidate” for a world with abundant liquid water, both conditions essential for supporting life.

What puzzles me is exactly WHY are astronomers looking for another planet that can hold life, if there WAS life on other planets then surely we would know by now, in my opinion there is no life on other planets as I believe God created humans only on earth.

Theres some stats somewhere about the chances of life on other planets but I cant find them at the min.
