Move…Part two…

The Saturday we came to move, we wasn’t at all sure how many people that would come to help us move house, I’d sent out a appeal over Twitter, and sent out a lot of text messages asking for help, got a few back saying that people where already busy etc etc.

So anyway, come 12pm, there was 10 people there including myself and hubby and it was a good job really that nobody else came to help as they would have just got in the way, by 4pm we had more or less finished and only just in time as the heavens opened just as we where getting the fridge inside the new house.

I went to borrow one of the Xcel Church vans with my dad, been going to aycliffe for ages now, guess what…….I got us lost haha.

We eventually found it and picked the van up, its quite a huge van when you look inside so we could fit loads of things in.

A few people turned up with food or went out specially to get food and drink for us, so there was lots of food going around as people helped.

It was a good fast move, if we had not had all those people helping it would have took us at least a day to move everything.

Move – Part one…..

Well, we’d packed most of the boxes up and were expecting to get the keys on the Friday before the move date, the appointment to get the keys was at 10am, we received a phone call from the letting agents informing us that my parents cheque had not cleared as hoped, so therefore we could not have the keys that day, unless my parents were able to come up with £1500………………..

I had to ring my mum and explain the situation and I wasn’t convinced that she could get that sort of cash on five minutes warning, anyhow, after phoning her bank she rang me back and said that yes they(my parents) would loan us a further £1500 bringing the total of they’re outgoings  at least temporarily to £2500.

£2500….thats a lot of money to fork out, I love my parents!

So anyhow, my mum couldnt get over to our place untill after she’d finished work, she came straight from work and came down to the agents with us, told me a piece of interesting news on the way over, turns out the cheque had not been cashed when the agents had said it had been, when we pulled the agents up about it they tried to make all sorts of excuses!

We got the keys and signed the agreement at 15.30, only 5.5 hours after we was supposed to be, still it meant we couldnt do a lot that day.
